Classroom Instruction: It is recommended students be age 15 by the end of the 30 hours of classroom instruction. Students must be age 15 to be eligible to take Written Knowledge Permit Test.

Make-Up Session: One make-up session for each session is scheduled. Tardies and/or absence from one class need to be made-up. Please check for schedule conflicts prior to registration.

Blue Card: The Blue Card will be given to students at the last class if they completed the course work and are registered for behind-the wheel instruction. (if they are not registered for behind-the-wheel they will receive a Letter of Completion to be taken to where you are going to do behind-the-wheel to get a blue card)

Written Knowledge Permit Test: A Blue Card is needed to take the Written Knowledge Test. (Can be taken at the Community Ed Office, not be able to schedule drive dates for behind the wheel until you have passed the permit test )

Behind-the-Wheel Lessons: Students need six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. HLWW Community Education offers these as three, 2-hour lessons. Upon obtaining permit contact Community Education to schedule.

White Card: Needed to take the road test. The white card will be give to students at the completion of their behind-the-wheel lessons. Students will also need to complete any additional requirements including driving log on their own time prior to taking their road test.

Cost of Registration:

Signing Up for Classroom & Behind the Wheel at the same time- $375 

Signing Up for Classroom Only- $120

Signing Up for Behind the Wheel Only- $320

Other Fees Will Apply for Permit test & no shows for behind the wheel
